Efforts to bolster micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in embracing digital advancements are gaining momentum among Vietnam and other member economies of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC). The focus is on accelerating digital transformation and integrating artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance productivity and competitiveness within these businesses.
At a recent APEC workshop held in Hanoi, Vietnamese officials emphasized the critical role of technology transfer, digital skills enhancement, and innovation in supporting MSMEs. This gathering saw the convergence of delegates from APEC member economies, international bodies, and prominent tech companies, all aimed at deliberating on AI integration, digital infrastructure, financial accessibility, and efforts to bridge the digital gap.
The workshop is a strategic component of Vietnam’s roadmap as it gears up to host APEC in 2027. Participants are tasked with formulating policy recommendations that advocate for the responsible use of AI and seek to fortify regional collaboration in the digital economy.
