As Vietnam and Japan advance their diplomatic ties, both nations are setting their sights on enhanced cooperation across various sectors to bolster mutual prosperity and stability in the region. This strategic partnership encompasses diplomacy, security, trade, and economic security, further extending into technology and cultural exchanges.
In a recent message commemorating Vietnam’s 81st National Day, Japanese Foreign Minister Motegi Toshimitsu underlined Japan’s aspiration to collaborate with Vietnam in building a robust and prosperous future for both countries. This sentiment is echoed by Japanese Finance Minister Katayama Satsuki, who pointed out that the bilateral relationship has reached a new phase, ripe with opportunities for collaboration in critical industries such as finance, semiconductors, artificial intelligence, and energy.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Pham Quang Hieu emphasized that the relations between the two countries are at their strongest, highlighting significant developments in science and technology, innovation, green and digital transformation, as well as the cultivation of skilled human resources. These areas of cooperation are seen as crucial for fostering economic growth and contributing to regional peace and stability.
Both countries are committed to expanding the Vietnam-Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership by leveraging their complementary economic strengths and mutual trust. This expansion includes strengthening parliamentary exchanges and fostering people-to-people connections, which are notably supported by Vietnam’s large community residing in Japan.
As Vietnam and Japan continue to deepen their collaboration, the focus remains on creating synergies that not only advance their respective national interests but also contribute positively to the broader regional landscape.
