Key among their discussions were significant upcoming anniversaries, such as the 50th anniversary of defence cooperation slated for 2026 and the 60th anniversary of the Currency Interchangeability Agreement in 2027.
Focusing on mutual growth, the leaders explored avenues to enhance collaboration across various sectors. Energy, food security, and supply chain resilience emerged as prominent topics of interest. They also emphasized the importance of fostering people-to-people exchanges, recognizing that strong interpersonal connections can bolster bilateral ties and mutual understanding.
Beyond discussions with the Sultan, Minister Lee engaged with Brunei’s Crown Prince and senior ministers. These meetings aimed to devise strategies for nurturing relationships among future leaders and youth from both countries. During his time in Brunei, Minister Lee participated in official birthday celebrations and took the opportunity to connect with Singapore Armed Forces personnel stationed there for training. His itinerary also included a visit to a Singapore-managed aquaculture farm, highlighting the agricultural links between the two nations.
